Four polishing methods for aluminum profile shells
Release date:2022-07-01
With the progress of the times, various forms of transportation have developed, such as airplanes, ships, cars, and even household products. Aluminum shaped shells are used in office furniture, which can be said to be widely used in multiple fields and are closely related to people's lives. However, we have a lot of aluminum profiles whose shells are oxidized and lose their luster every year, which requires polishing.
There are three general forms of polishing, namely polishing, mechanical polishing, and electric polishing. During the polishing process for cars or ships, it is important to prioritize mechanical polishing followed by electrical polishing. This can achieve brightness and restore the previous luster. Additionally, coloring can be applied to the aluminum profile casing.
Below we will introduce four polishing methods to restore the luster of the aluminum profile shell to its previous state.
According to different usage requirements, we list four surface treatment methods for aluminum profile shells:
1. Anodizing, removing the aluminum oxide from the top of the aluminum profile shell for effective polishing.
2. Electrolytic polishing refers to the use of chemical reactions to use electrolytic polishing as the anode and insoluble metal as the cathode to immerse in an electrolytic cell. Direct current is applied to dissolve the anodic aluminum oxide, which disappears from the aluminum profile shell and restores its luster.
3. Chemical polishing can be used as a pre-treatment process for protective and decorative electroplating, as well as a pre-treatment process for chemical film formation such as phosphating and bluing. If a rust proof and passivation water solution is immersed before painting, the aluminum oxide on the surface of the aluminum profile shell can be eliminated.
4. After anodizing in the electrolytic reaction, various colors are formed on the oxide film, and then colored according to your requirements.
The above four are commonly used polishing methods, which are relatively low-cost and highly operable. They can effectively remove aluminum oxide from the surface of the aluminum profile shell, achieve polishing effect, and restore the original luster of the aluminum profile shell.
